EOR Screening and
Optimisation
RPS uses software products such as MAESTRO as an enabling technology for initial evaluation of field portfolios at any stage of development. RPS applies flexibly in the examination of either a single reservoir or portfolio of fields, investigating multiple development options and/or enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques. We combine preliminary analytical automated screening with rapid multi-purpose simulation, facilitated by a simple spreadsheet front end.
The analytical screening estimates various performances indicators such as gravity/viscous balance, sweep efficiencies, chemical stability and miscibility pressures. This allows elimination of non-viable reservoir/process combinations, provides an understanding of displacement mechanisms and estimates of the impact of uncertainty. The rapid simulation tool has access to the full capability of our multi-purpose simulator. Geology may be easily modelled in a simplified or detailed manner as appropriate and gas, thermal, chemical or infill options may be simulated as required.
