Jamie graduated from the University of Manchester in 2006 with a 2:1 BSc (Hons) in Physics, and joined RPS Risk Management around 15 months ago.
“Working on a variety of different projects for several clients means I am constantly being presented with new challenges and the work is always interesting. I have relished the chance to spend time working on-site at a range of facilities including oil refineries, nuclear plants and chemical factories.
Direct contact with clients has allowed me to develop those business and consulting skills which you just don't get to learn at university. Since joining RPS, I have learned a lot of chemical engineering to understand the hazards present in the oil and gas industry.
I am increasingly being given responsibility for managing projects and clients and I hope to build on this. I would also like to gain chartered status and RPS are very supportive of this goal.
A healthy work life balance is definitely encouraged, with many opportunities for socialising out of hours. Last Summer’s away day was white water rafting in Bala, North Wales, which proved a great event to get to know the people I work with in a different setting.”
