Environmental Science is the study of the interactions between physical, chemical and biological components of the environment. RPS combines a unique range of skills in air, water and earth sciences on the one hand and specialist services which include hydrology, urban drainage and flood alleviation on the other. We provide comprehensive advice to clients in the public and private sectors, enabling them to respond effectively to challenges posed by the need for greater sustainability and climate change adaptation.
Measuring existing and future environmental emissions, assessing their cumulative toxicological effects and modelling the impacts of proposed new developments on, for example, the incidence of flooding, contributes to the design of sustainable mitigation measures. These studies are critical to many planning consents and to pollution, prevention and control (PPC) permits. Our expertise in human health risk, health impact, ecological and radiological sciences comes with an in-depth knowledge and experience of all regulatory and institutional requirements.
