Sedimentology
What we provide
- Detailed sedimentological logging and interpretation of cores and outcrops
- Integration with wire line logs and borehole image logs to produce a sedimentological interpretation
- Comparison with modern day analogues to suggest probable sand body dimensions#
- Petrographic analysis using a number of techniques, but concentrating on thin section microscopy, X-Ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM)
- Assessment of controls on porosity and permeability of reservoir rocks
- Input to slope stability and site investigation studies, often in conjunction with biostratigraphic analysis
