2007 Another Remarkable Year
RPS experienced great success during the course of 2007. Our client base grew significantly. We invested heavily in the development of our staff, skills and resources, whilst also increasing returns to our shareholders.
All parts of the Group achieved substantial year on year growth. Our development in Australia was particularly noteworthy. Following a series of successful acquisitions we have an extremely broad range of skills to offer the oil and gas, minerals and property development industries. The excitement of the Australian market for us is driven by the continuing expansion of the domestic economy, its strong links with other fast growing countries in the region and the attractiveness of our mix of services to the client base.
We have also expanded our presence in North America with acquisitions in both Canada and the US, where we have begun to move away from our Energy roots into other environmental activities.
We strengthened our leadership in a number of markets in the UK and Ireland as well as building upon the fast growing international reputation of our Energy business.
The Dutch economy returned to good health and our business there performed well and has significant growth opportunities.
Our energy business had another exceptional year. The increasing need for energy supplies to fuel global economic growth means that our clients continue to need our assistance unlocking oil and gas assets as well as developing renewable energy schemes. We are also working on proposals for new nuclear power stations in the UK.
Over the last 12 months sentiment in respect of the need to tackle climate change and build a truly sustainable world economy has shifted dramatically. RPS is exceptionally well placed to advise about these issues. In consequence, we believe we will continue to provide excellent support for our clients and offer rewarding careers to our staff, whilst creating long term value for our shareholders.
2008 will be a another successful year for RPS.
